A Working Day with NYCB
Developed in partnership with the Department of Volunteer & Rehearsal Services
This program offers individual classes of students from Third Grade through college the opportunity to visit New York City Ballet during its regular working day. Students observe and learn about behind-the-scenes efforts going on at the New York State Theater at Lincoln Center before it opens to the public for evening performances.
Length of visit and specific activities are determined individually for each visiting group based on the age and interests of the students. Experiences can include a discussion of NYCB and its history, a tour of the New York State Theater, observation of a working rehearsal, and a look at ballet shoes and costumes.
