Just starting to attend the ballet? Would you like to learn at the same time as your kids? Have you always wanted to know the "how" or "why" and "who" of what takes place on stage? Then you've come to the right place for Kids & Families looking for fun, informal introductions to the ballet.

Close-Up Programs lists the best possible in-person ways to explore the world of ballet for families with young children. New York City Ballet draws on its full resources-dancers, choreographers, educators, musicians and production personnel-to make the art of dance come alive in engaging, give-and-take settings.

Be with us when the theater fills with squeals of delight during a Ballet for Young People program. Matinee performances take on a whole new dimension for you and your family when immediately preceded by a Children's Workshop. Take the youngsters to a free, pre-show First Position Talk on the Fourth Ring and they can pepper the docents with questions.

Ballet for Young People, Children's Workshops, and First Position Talks are designed for kids and family audiences.
